Hand baggage

Baggage that you do not check in but take with you into the cabin is subject to the regulations for hand baggage.

Please note, however, that some items are restricted.

One piece of hand baggage, with maximum dimensions 55 x 35 x 25 cm

Economy Class allowance plus:
Except flights departing from the USAMaximum weight: 12 kg/26 lbs including a coat/blanket, umbrella/walking stick, purse, camera bag and a reasonable amount of reading materialA second piece of hand baggage, with maximum dimensions 45 x 20 x 35 cm. The total weight of the two pieces may not exceed 18kg/39 lbs.
Flights departing from the USAOne piece of hand baggage, with a maximum length of 115 cm and a maximum weight of 12 kg/26 lbs. Plus a purse, or laptop, coat, umbrella and collapsible buggy.
Flights departing from the UK and IndiaAs a result of new regulations, passengers departing from some British or any Indian airport may only take one piece of hand baggage onto the flight, regardless of which class they are traveling in.

 

Hand baggage for children under two years of age

You are permitted to take one piece of hand baggage on board your flight for children under two years of age who do not have their own seat. The maximum dimensions of this piece of baggage are 55 x 35 x 25 cm, and it may not exceed 10 kg in weight. You can also bring a small, collapsible buggy with you as hand baggage, provided that it will fit under the seat in front of you or in the overhead baggage compartment. Otherwise, the buggy can be checked into the hold free of charge.

KLM Partner Airlines

The baggage policy of some KLM partners may differ from the aforementioned regulations. Please contact your travel agent or the relevant airline for information on the relevant baggage policy.

On flights operated by KLM cityhopper, you may be requested to hand in your hand baggage upon boarding the aircraft due to limited storage space in the cabin. Flying Blue Elite members will always be permitted to take one piece of hand baggage (with max. dimensions 55 x 35 x 25 cm) onto these flights.
